The Fun begins!!

2:12pm Whoo hooo! The 26th Annual Race Across America has begun and Jason called from his bike. (is that like being a guy driving his SUV while talking on the cell phone?) They are hyped and excited and rolling along in the 13 mile Ceremonial Start parade. They barely made it to the Start Line in time- they were finishing their last minute packing (and eating) and made it just 5 minutes before their intro. The strategy is set and Chris and Dave will begin at the "real"Start line, then Lorenzo and Jason will do a 2 man draft. For the first 8 hrs, they will all ride together (until time station 2) so they can really pick up some speed. The weather is great (70's) but it was super hot in the desert (110 degrees!) but hopefully they will hit that after the sun sets.
